Hire the Pros: Craft Guilds and Organizations of Skilled Professionals

The Agency. (Well-)Established.

Since the dawn of civilisation, before the recording of time, the Agency has existed. Its role is to hide in the shadows of those catalysts who shape the world, and to be prepared with a cup of tea and opinion when needed.

Quests: These can vary wildly, from saving a servant from their master or mistress’s beating, to infiltrating into a Tyrant’s tea-party as a kitchen maid, to successfully prevent 30 future genocides.

Nostra voluntate , ut serviant (Could someone check my latin, its a touch rusty).

Location: The greatest seat of civilisation at the time, naturally with the greatest decor too. Such locations have included the Jewell Studded Palace of Ponti, and the Abstract Geometricies of Circadia; the city that never sleeps. While the Agency itself does not own these great structures, it is based within the passages inside for the servants, without which such places could not function.

The membership of the Agency is extremely exacting, and specialised, though for those who do succeed in joining, great rewards are to be had. Only those of greatest efficiency and skill, with remarkable wit and judgement, who are capable of maintaining the highest virtues of utility, can be found within it’s ranks. If the Agency finds you worthy, it shall contact you about recruitment, further training and there after placement. From here, not only will the Agency ensure a comfortable lifestyle (aiding those with extravagant ones) but also full access to all of its reputation, records and archives, in addition to a guarantee to be able to change the world for the better.

While in the far past, the Agency has had a very strict hierarchy and complex system, nowadays this is not the case. Save for the hierarchy found between servants, there is no leader so each member has an equal voice. Of course, the Valets, Butlers and Fore-Seers are those whose words carry the greatest word, but do not understimate the mind or capabilities of the smallest maid.

Every single member of the Agency (despite there being remarkably few) is fully capable of delivering the justice or guidance required. Their abilities cover myriad specialisations, and with the predictions of the fore-seers, can deal with any problem. While their heroic deeds often go unsung, that of their masters or comrades more often do come to the public eye.

Finally, while few people know of the Agency, their legends are whispered amongst those in servitude. The suited stewards of civilisation, bearers of the winged cup in the night, children of Ganymede himself, offer hope and aspiration to those of any background.
