And, well, I've got hints of something else too that makes him even less vile. In some thread it came up and I read that the Bengal famine was actually caused by/made severe by japanese blocking food supply. I don't know how true is that, can be false too. But there's always this goddamn "other side of the story" and you get to realize not everyone believes the same, or everything is not that black and white. This whole "Bengal famine caused by Churchill" gets ignored among Brits to the extent (that's the impression I got from that thread) that I legit had to stop and think if the facts that our history books shoved down our throat was actually that simple or not.
