The history of confederate flags.

It definitely doesn’t represent the superiority of white people. If I had to guess it was most likely because white cloth is cheaper to produce than red cloth. The OP copy/pasted from the wiki article but left out the fact that it was a single news reporter who was claiming that it represented superiority. Everyone else suggested it was more so that it was clearly different from any other flags on the field (such as union flags which looked somewhat similar to the first flag) and that it represented purity truth and freedom. There was actually a lot of debate about wether it should be a plain field or if they should put a blue bar through it but again dye is expensive. But OP just really wants this to fit their narrative even though they could’ve left that part out and it would’ve been just as good to illustrate their point

Nobody knows who designed the white flag but the previous one (and best looking imo) was done by a German who lived in the south, he was chosen for the job because he painted a portrait of Jefferson Davis that Davis liked so he commissioned him to design the uniform and flag of the confederacy. He wasn’t know to be particularly racist or anything, simply chose the job for the money.
