I can't state how incredible this painting is in my view. The perspective the viewer has is of a creature just barely below the surface of the water. It is as if we are emerging from the shallows onto a shore, and we are presented with life in various forms. From the left we can see a meteor heading down to a primitive Earth. As we look from left to right, we can see crustaceans, flowers, insects, mammals, and so on. The moon is strangely close to the surface of the planet. It is as if the proximity of the object is a symbol for its close connection with the Earth. It is to remind us that the moon impacted the Earth before any of us or any of these beautiful creatures came into existence. To the right of the painting, we can see a rocket launching into space, a nice close to a nice 4 billions of years of evolution. This is just a brief description of what I see in the art. The gathering of so many different biological life forms signifies how we, in some aspects, are all one in the same, that we all came from one point or a common ancestor. It's wonderful.
