Sorry for all the downvotes. I'm not 100% certain how it started but there was this huge copypasta floating around for a while that basically said 'I watch Rick and Morty because I'm one of the smartest people in the world, it's a super intelligent show not meant for idiots, I like my girls dumber than I am, fuck all you idiots.' Not sure if it was said in jest or not, I've never seen the original-- but as a result of that and the Szechuan sauce fiasco reddit developed this burning hatred for all things Rick and Morty based on the actions of a tiny percentage of the fan base. It's died down for the most part, but it's still a circle jerk and it would be cool if it died entirely already.
