That is fundamentally not a view I can agree with. Who decides what is a net benefit to the people?

If it is the people then the institutions of democracy must be respected.

If it's something else, then that's something else.

Not sure why I'm arguing with a Singaporean constitutionalist, I have enough of loony constitution worshippers where I am in America.

What I'm doing is very different from American constitutionalism. I do sympathise with you though. You must have it tough there.
