Holding on hurts worse than letting go

Well you clearly have a good point

I think that's true because to me, it's like:

When you experience heartbreak and keep contacting them you feel two things:

  1. Pain
  2. Hope

The pain is going to naturally start fading since day 1 of breakup. But hope is what makes it reset to the beginning and making that pain to be incremental or constant and not decremental (how it should be). With each text that person is sending you, you start again. Hope is what really prevents you from healing the wounds.

When you do no contact you give up hope. So pain is going to be on it's peak the day after, but its going to be always decremental, like ALWAYS.

As hope fades away, pain will to.

For the simple reason that our brain is not going to waste energy on something you cannot change. Don't fool your brain.

You are not going to keep watering your plants once they are dead because its pointless.

So you are going to stop feeling pain for somebody that's gone for the same reason. Use your brain for something that is actually changeable.
