My mother's mental health has declined so badly over the last ten years. I don't recognize her any more. We had a good relationship growing up, but ever since I moved into my own place after graduating, she's been so angry with me. Why, for living my own life as adults are supposed to do? For marrying and giving her a grandchild? I finally cut contact with her a few weeks ago after she spread vicious lies to our family and no one believed her. Everyone defended me, she's branded as a vicious woman who badmouths her daughter, but now I don't have a relationship with her right before Christmas. She burned all of her bridges at once and I didn't want this, but after ten years, I'm done. I empathize with every single one of you who have felt this every year.
