Why was Pete essentially chased out of the march in SC today? I just think it's so stupid to literally prevent someone who wants to help your community by shoving them away without any desire to have a conversation or even raise up meaningful skepticism. Yes, there were issues in South Bend (which have been blown completely out of proportion by media narratives). Yes, Pete does not understand the day-to-day struggles of many working people, especially those of color. But here, he is trying to learn about their hardships and fight alongside them. This is the kind of stuff that hurts America more than anything: closed minds and burned bridges at a time when unity is what we need more than anything else.
