Home cooks of Reddit, DONT blend hot liquids! I learnt the hard way

Holy moly u/yourneighbours...

I'm cringing and feeling so sorry you experienced such a painful episode, while simply trying to explore the pleasures of culinary-arts.

I have a degree in physics, and even I, to be honest, was not intuitively and acutely aware of the thermal-dynamics involved in your serious kitchen accident.

I mean sure: it seems obvious in retrospect, but this is TOTALLY the kind of mistake anyone (including myself) could make in the kitchen, without pausing to think of deeper thermal-dynamic and atmospheric equations!

So... I for one say:

It's a good thing you're posting this here, and making more people aware of this.

And I also DO NOT blame you for making this mistake. Again: I think this is a mistake that a wide variety of people can make, across all levels of scientific and culinary education.

I just really hope everything heals, and that you're not experiencing much pain, as you recover.

God speed to you, as you recover from this kitchen-warrior-ninja injury!
