What did the military actually say about your vision? Do you have any paper work from them stating you where denied entry because of your vision? How bad is your vision? This sounds like you might be classified as legally blind. If you are, looking into vocational rehab with blind organizations, they’ll help you get a job in your field of study.

I don’t know what the one in California is called. In Oregon, it is called the Commission for the Blind. If you are legally blind (this does not mean totally blind) then the best place to live is in Washington State as they do the most for blind people.
