He literally said "if space is empty let people sleep in it. if you want them to not take up “private” space, give then adequate housing protections". The person who responded is clearly disagreeing with the "if space is empty let people sleep in it" aspect as a whole with or without adequate housing for the homeless. Sure we should absolutely figure out a way to get people off the street it's a horrible reality that people are sleeping on the street without any choice but allowing them to just occupy random empty spots isn't the answer. Throwing them in jail clearly isn't the answer either but I wouldn't want some random people living in a building I own especially one that isn't made with people living there in mind with people who you have no way of making sure are stable and aren't going to destroy the place.
