Homelessness is really getting out of hand

The provincial government spends $200M a year on homelessness. This doesn't include the federal and municipal governments contributions to homelessness funding. Edmonton and Calgary have 3000 homeless people each. Let's just say there are 10,000 homeless people in total in Alberta, which is obviously an inflated number but let's go with it.

How can $200M a year not solve homelessness for 10,000 people? That pays for a 1 bedroom $1000 a month rent for a year with $80M left over. That $80M a year could go towards addiction and mental health and support workers solely for homeless people.

This is an industry and its obvious why it will never be solved. Homelessness will just continue to worsen because obvious solutions are not being applied.
