That being said, a lot of your conclusion is easily dismissable.

The decision to take revenge is not an emotional one.

That's the problem with most of the responses on this question. People seem to be looking at a situation they experienced and assume I went through the same emotional scenario. Like you picture where you were at when you asked yourself this question and locked the scenario down at that.

I wish the responses were more detached, I have a feeling they would be more contextualized in the end.
