Be honest; is getting a Windows Phone worth it?

I think that SMS thing is a bug. I've had that happen to me before. I have not had it happen recently though. Also to be fair I've had similar things happen on iPhones and Android phones. The 950 phones were also pretty rough. Windows 10 mobile was new, the devices were new, the firmware wasn't great. Firmware and software updates have fixed a lot of issues.

The reason I use a Windows phone is because I like the interface and I like Windows. I like that the 950 phones are among the best camera phones you can get. Apps are a weakness in both quantity and quality, but it does what I need it to do. As long as I can see developers bringing apps to Windows I will be happy. If I see developers fully abandon Windows then I'll probably move on, but I'm hoping the things Microsoft has been doing to improve developer support will pay off in the long run. I like the things Microsoft has been doing with Windows and I'm interested in seeing how/if they can push things forward. Out of the 3 Windows excites me the most in terms of potential future functionality.

I don't use an Android phone because I only consider Nexus devices. The 5X and 6P are nice, but I did not think their cameras were on par with the best Android cameras (mainly Samsung's and Lg's phones). The 6P is too huge for me and the 5X has some issues. I do have a Nexus 7 and like it, but I still prefer Windows for my phone.

I don't have an iPhone anymore because I don't like how Apple tries to pull people into their ecosystem and lock them in. I have no plans to invest in an iPad or macbook so I'll never experience the full potential of Apple's ecosystem. I have nothing against those that fully invest in their ecosystem, but that's not me. I'm more fully invested in Microsoft's and Google's ecosystem. Also when it comes to the camera I've never thought the iPhone had a camera anywhere near as good as the best phone cameras. Whenever I see comparisons it's clear to me the iPhone has a "good" camera, but it's not one of the best.
