Do you honestly buy into what Nintendo is telling us?

They've been admitting they fucked up since about a month after everyone started realizing certain amiibos were impossible to find with the phrase "we underestimated demand." Underestimating demand is fine, I never would have expected amiibos to blow up like this either. What Nintendo of America is doing that's pissing me and a lot of other people off is repeatedly giving us non-answers and statements that could mean almost anything. I want NoA to tell us some things from time to time, to stop smokescreening their consumers so that they have to turn to employee leaks and CPSIA certifications to get information about what amiibo might be being reprinted and when, and maybe some information on why amiibo waves are still coming with characters in such small numbers that they're practically guaranteed to be 100% sold out within release day.

As it is we have no idea of whether all these amiibos that sold out day one and cost ~$50 to obtain will ever be released again. Waiting for Nintendo to announce a reprint or buying from a reseller before the price goes up even further is a huge gamble right now because NoA refuses to tell us if anything is going to happen. I'd like this to stop.

As for the N3DS, it was their business decision but I feel that it was the wrong one. I, and a lot of others judging from reactions, really got burned on NoA's decision to not give us the option for the N3DS. Seeing NoE constantly getting N3DS bundles and constantly being told 'I'm not the market' doesn't feel great and certainly doesn't convince me that NoA has my interests in mind.

If they really thought it wouldn't sell as well, they should have simply produced less so as not to snub consumers that really wanted a N3DS over N3DSXL. If having the N3DS and N3DSXL on shelves would have confused consumers like they said, they could have chosen some other form of distribution, possibly an online Nintendo store that's actually worth a damn. Like EU has.

Region locking is still an obvious underlying issue that needs to be done away with, but the least they can do over at NoA is give us the same options the rest of the world has.
