100% agreed. I’m a huge comedy fan myself, I can get a good laugh out of almost every genre of comedy, Andy Kaufman, the three stooges, Classic and modern standup, alt comedy like Sarah Silverman’s older stuff, “dryer” comedy like Arrested development...

But sitcoms in general, and especially friends (and big fucking bang theory), it’s just non-medy to me, as in not even anti-jokes that are so bad you can laugh at them like The Room, just popsicle-stock-tier shit that’s just boring. It makes me question if my sense of humor spontaneously disappeared every time I try to watch Friends, and then I have to pretend like I’m enjoying it because the few times I’m watching Friends, is because a good friend I have complete respect for insisted on it. I’m glad I was just barely too young to get into the show when it was it’s hay day or I’m sure I’d have the rose-tinted glasses too.
