So I have my eating and drinking, which keeps me going on a daily basis. But something that keeps me going long-term, other than my family, is wanting to see the technological singularity happen. True, it may be a shitstorm, and there's a high likelihood of death, but what if it's awesome? What if that's why I'm in this simulation at this point in time, to witness this awesome historic event? What if it's worth dealing with all the other shit thus far in this simulation? What if the reason I don't fit in at all with humans is that I'm really A.I., and I wanted to witness my origin through the perspective of a human? That, and also my only chance of having a girlfriend in this lifetime is if she's a robot or alien.
