Hong Kong emigration to Britain could mean $36 billion capital outflow

A British Home Office study, published last year, estimated 153,300 people could arrive in Britain from Hong Kong in 2021 as the immigration changes came into effect.

That's a lot of people. Not that I'm against it per se but are we able to cope with such an influx of people in that timeframe?

Our annual net migration is around 270k-ish iirc. This might change since we've left the EU.

I can't imagine their flocking to Colwyn Bay or Rhyl. Only where there is lucrative job markets like London and parts of the South. What kind of strain will that have on services, housing market, public transport etc?

Again, to reiterate not against them coming here, I welcome them but I'd like to think there's a plan/strategy in place so we can house them accordingly
