I'm hoping that the end-game for all this pressure on China is basically to un-seat President Xi. He is by now quite obviously a sociopath and very dangerous to international stability.

Then again so is Trump, but maybe in this case Trump is actually accepting advice from people with some brains.

We have already seen a leak from within the CCP, which seems quite rare. If the leaker is found he will doubtless be executed, so there is obviously some displeasure with Xi's "ruthless dictator" leadership style within the party.

Let's hope it works, Xi gets the boot, as does Trump and Boris, and we end up with smarter and kinder leaders all round. We really need it right now.
