You Have To Honor What It Says On The Menu

Actually cops wouldn't do anything unless it was a repeat offender maybe. Barely petty theft if even.

If an employee steals tips, nothing happens till they're caught in person by the manager (seriously most the time even multiple reports won't get any action unless a manager sees it). Cops are NOT called, they're not charged with theft (as the company didn't lose money) and 50 % of the time not fired till they do it again... Still cops are not called they're simply fired unless they're short staff lolzzzzz true sadly... They could steal 5000 in tips over time and still no cops despite grand theft (be really hard to figure how many much they stole.).... No cops are called even with name and address, hell even social security number....

Why? The restaurant didn't lose any money just the ppl working for below minimum wage did :) sooo no cops, and because it's just a server losing wages of non promised amount and no garented amount.... Cops won't and honestly can't do anything to the employee despite cameras, records and more.

Soooooo there is no way in hell, even if you knew the woman's name, and the exact amount would cops get involved in max probably 20$ tip.

Only thing you could ever do about tip stealing (if you're lucky enough to have clear proof) is maaayyybbeee sue in small claims. Maybe.... Depending on the amount and proof if they'd take you seriously.

Reality of the server life is.... Your income depends on others kindness and your coworkers and other customers honesty... And kindness and honesty aren't as common as a servers wallet would hope. And they make the hours so wonky good luck getting a second job. But it's not all bad, you get free leftovers :/ I made good money as a server because I was also assistant manager and salaried on top of tips. But 12 hour days on my feet (breakfast to dinner), drama level above high school, and amount of ppl who came in hungover, high or drunk would amaze you, both customers and staff. Had a manager doing coke in her office...

Why I tell you this? Ppl don't care about what's right in restaurant industry, or many industries.... Just about what makes money. And no way a server has the time or energy left usually to chase down one person who stole their tips, didn't tip them or someone who didn't pay their bill even...

All that could possibly actually happen is the customer gets banned..... If there is proof. :)
