“We hook up because we have no social skills. We have no social skills because we hook up.” (A really great read on current dating culture, people having less sex, declining social skills)

My age group always gets screwed out of the new dating solution and remedy, though. For example, when I was in my 20s, Tinder, Bumble and OkCupid, and online dating in general being normalized didn't really exist yet. We still had to rely mostly on going out to meet people, which is fine if you have the time and a stable friend circle to do so, but I was more so busy with my career and moving around, so I didn't invest much of myself in that because I didn't have the time. If anything, we had Craigslist, and Craigslist was shady as all hell, where people were getting murdered and robbed off it.

During that small window of time when online dating and swipe apps were not horrible and began to go mainstream, it really only benefited people in their 20s who were getting out college and didn't have time to meet new people, where as I had reached my 30s, was more comfortable in my career at that point, and yet, hardly anyone my age was on those sites and apps anymore because most people had already found someone or married. Now, online dating is terrible for everyone no matter your age, and I fear that by the time we find a correction to it, I'll be in my 40s and even more marginalized in the dating pool.
