Yeah, I was the fat, quiet kid in a small private high school and the ”cool” thing to do was make me feel as inhuman as possible.

One night while our parents were away at a retreat, four boys came to my home and pelted it with tomatoes and eggs. The cherry on top was the creepy messages about them cutting my heart out and eating it. Everyone at school thought what they did was hilarious and students would follow behind me in the halls making the noises from the voice messages.

The school staff’s response, “Well, maybe there’s a reason why everyone at school doesn’t like her and picks on her.” Fucking blew my mind at how they justified everything, especially now that I work with kids myself.

Oh well, jokes on them. Most of the girls got fat and the boy who made fun of me the most got hit by a truck... guess they voted for the wrong person when they voted me, “Most likely to die first,” at senior year.
