I hope distances matter more in CK3 (Character Finder, Teleporting, etc.)

I think for the character finder you shouldn't be able to see someone's stats or traits unless they're in a neighboring realm or you have a job for a councilor to send him to a realm so you can see traits/stats. Also it's too easy to invite people to your court. Why would a courtier want to leave as a commander in a place with his culture to just be a commander for you in a different culture? Only people with claims on a realm neighboring yours should really want to come to your court. You should have to use the intrigue menu to invite people a lot more often at a cost.

Teleporting generals should look like HOI4 where there's a cooldown if you they leave their army. It's kind of crazy I can just switch out organizers/siege leaders a day before or after a battle when they're needed or not.

I'm not sure I agree with your fog of war mechanic even if what you said may be true. It just seems a little bit much.

One thing you might like is that the war system in CK3 is considering distance from your realm now. There's a new supply system that means you have slowly work your way inwards into a country when at war, if you beeline towards the capital without taking a counties along the way, it will kill your supply. You have to start on counties that are neighboring you or are coastal.
