I hope to God reincarnation isn't fucking real

Be careful not to wrongly understand concepts of reincarnation and karma.

The idea is that everyone has a path, something to learn, something to give. Did you notice that people who had it hard are often strong, resilient and wise ones? You can't become wise and strong if you are comfortable - every creature on this Earth struggles, strives.

Did you notice how some people finish their life in peace while some just never get there and always make the same mistakes? Observe old people and you'll notice not everyone is the same.

These are kind of lessons that karma is all about.

Ram Dass is very good but might not be your cup of tea. Try someone else. Carlos Castaneda books? How about some Robert Anton Wilson? Stoics?
