I mean that's all great but someone just shared that for them personally it doesn't lubricate anything besides more anxiety and/or contempt.

TBH this is really the problem with work in general and why the whole bring yourself to work bit is disingenuous. There will always be people who don't fit the social norm or have the same feelings as everyone else. Naturally those people will have to adjust or fake it or find another place to work.
