Horizon Zero Dawn beats Zelda to No.1 in the UK

Horizon mechanically is as compelling as dishwater. It does nothing new, gives the player no real engagement beyond flashy lights and is actually a sad indictment of modern gamers wanting style over substance. It is the pinnacle of Ubisoft / EA template big budgets, zero innovation.

It is quite literally the opposite of compelling for many for these reasons. It's Jurassic World. Though undeniably polished lacks soul or heart. The story is an embarrassment with characters and dialogue cringier than any B movie you can find.

It seems Zelda wins applaud for actually compelling players to open world done right, done fresh and done engaging in actually capturing the essence of why open world games should exist. Iv played both games 5ish hours and Zelda has got me just how GTA SA did, with a feeling of true openness in creativity and exploration, crafted finely.

Horizon had me yawning for 2 hours pushing through the dreadful story before getting into the actual game and just feeling fatigued. It's just all the same game I'm bored of beating in a different skin.
