Horrible runner here, need advice

Look, you're overweight and you are obviously new to running so of course running is going to be a challenge. You just need to ease into it extremely slowly as you're likely trying to go way too fast for your actual current aerobic fitness (which is not a lot).

I recommend starting with a very beginner's program such as Couch25K, which believe it or not doesn't start with running at all. There's apps for it, websites, etc. Google it and find out which medium works best for you.

Most of all, don't get caught up on accessories or shoes making you better, etc. Right now it's all about learning the actual fundamentals of running and getting your body acclimated to a less sedentary lifestyle.
