When I called social services she said if I live with my mom that I can’t apply because I can’t pay rent and I’m a dependent now again at 33? Even though I take care of everything for her. I’ve been really sick for over a year, school dropped me and I can’t work so I’ve lost my car and insurance and everything I honestly just wanted a little help. Our healthcare is so terrible. My bf has been taking care of mom since her first stroke, my moms partner unalived himself while she was in hospital, so we came to help but the social worker refused to approve either one of us for homecare it took a second stroke (and a pelvis fracture) for them to come to our home and approve my bf. They wanted us to hire someone for 3 hrs a day and no one answered our ads and no one was available from local agencies. Mom needs care 24/7 so it only made sense they approve her family. Our system is so bad. I wrote the premier last week about my experiences with they healthcare system and haven’t heard from the office at all. I get sick everyday and they wont help me because I’m a healthy 33 yr old other than what they can’t figure out, but healthy people don’t get sick everyday and be in crippling pain 24/7.
