There's a clear solution to mend the worst of it. Universal health care. USA, the richest country on planet earth can afford it. This cuts off profit motives of middlemen insurance agencies and the tremendously wasteful process between that. Wasteful not just in dollar value. But in wasted precious hours, days, weeks and months that are created by the bureaucracy as people "Wait" for approval and processing.

But because "UHC" is a "Right" vs "left" issue with the "Right" having anti-UHC hard coded into their very DNA as political identities, we get to suffer for the rest of our lives with a progressively worsening system with no hope of ever seeing real and substantial change.
