Hello there my fellow degenerates, My name is blanksy. and I am a proud member of Team Balcony, I may have met some of you in my travels, but if not, what up! Along with dabbling in helping with creating balc content, I am also the head organizer for this year's PM Invitational, this time called Cashed Out. (It's conveniently located near G4, who knew?). For those who have been out of the loop, Cashed Out is 16-Man Invitational Bracket/After Party that is taking place on Saturday, January 21st featuring both Top Level Players from PM and Melee with names like Professor Pro, n0ne, ThunderzReign and more! Why This is Important So Cashed Out is the first PM event to be sponsored by Weedmaps, which is super chill! They have been great and very supportive of our game and our community, and with their help we will definitely make this one of the most hype events of the year. PM has been doing pretty well recently all things considered, but the fact that we have an event that is partnered with the same guys who sponsored Smash Summit 3 is BIG. We are sweating hard over here trying to make sure the event runs as smoothly as possible, but when it comes down to it we really want to hit those big viewer numbers. This could potentially be a very big deal for PM and it could help us get a lot of exposure. SO WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU is some help with getting the word out about this super stacked event. We are going to be spamming social media like hell in the next couple days, but PLEASE do us a solid by sharing this post, our trailers, or just go tell your friends or your family, your friend's family, your family's friends, or your homie Ned about our sick event! SOCAL INVADES CASHED OUT Along with confirming both Boringman (Rank #2 SoCal/NorCal), and Mr. Lz (you know who he is.), we are happy to announce that 4 of SoCal's most talented/most savage players will be attending Cashed Out! Jose V, Red Ranger, IPK and SoCal's #1 Sosa will all be attending the event and will be playing in the bracket! These SoCal aggressors are sure to make a huge impact on who makes it far and takes home the gold. Pre-Invitational Qualifier PLOT TWIST! Do you think you are good and want a chance to play in the bracket with the Pros? Well we are going to be hosting a Qualifier bracket, (possibly RR depending on time, set ups, entrants, etc.), on the same day as the Invitational to determine who get's the last spot in the Invitational Bracket! So how does it work? The Invitational begins shortly after Melee Singles at G4, so the qualifier will take place earlier in the day and will be streamed as well! You must be Power Ranked, or have been Power Ranked in your own region. If you come from a smaller region that doesn't have a ranking system then you can submit proof such as notable set wins/performances. If you are interested in playing in the qualifier then shoot us an email with your tag, region, and ranking/old ranking along with any proof that shows your good at pressing buttons and being good at smash. If you are in, we will email you back with further instructions for the event. Email - [email protected] *Deadline to request a spot in the qualifier is Friday, Jan 20th at 9PM PST! We do reserve the right to deny anyone entry in the bracket, so sorry ahead of time if you don't get picked! The 1st place winner of the qualifier will move on and play in the Invitational. If, for any reason, one or more of the Invitational players is unable to make it unexpectedly (because c'mon people this happens), then the runner ups from the Qualifier are eligible to take their places. So if Frozen decides to party hard instead like he does, the second place player from the qualifier would take his spot and so on. Here are some FAQ Can I attend the event? Unfortunately the answer is probably no. The venue we have is limited in space and we simply can't have random smashers coming in and out, (hence why it's an invitational and not a full fledged tournament). If you were not invited and are not coming with someone who was then please do not come looking for us, we will be kicking people out if we see any nerds trying to sneak in. Please just tune in to the stream and enjoy the high level gameplay! However, there is always the chance that we may need more set ups/recording set ups, so if you have a full one and are able to bring it to the event please message me on Facebook or shoot us an email and we can see about squeezing you in ;) Why was ___ invited to play and not ____? We reserve the right to choose the players we believe will make an exciting spectator event. Reasonings for every player varies and would take to long, so just take our word for it and praise Balcy the Almighty Bro Sun. Why so late on the announcements? I'll take the hit on this one, but trying to organize this thing whilst trying to simultaneously confirm players who are also playing in another big tournament has been rough. Throwing them TO johns out in the air, but this is my first big event that I'm putting together and it has definitely been a learning experience. Don't trip tho this event is going to be siiiiick. When does the Tournament Start? The qualifier will begin streaming at 5PM and the Invitational should begin following Melee Singles at G4. When will we find out the other 5 Players? Great Question! We should have the last trailer revealing the final 5 invitees by no later than Thursday, January 19th. Team Balc is rolling through and getting ready for G4 so we are definitely busy, but rest assured the last 5 invitees will be announced soon and I can honestly say you won't be disappointed.
