This hotel in Singapore is how all cities should look.

FIFTEEN miles? Where do you live? Surely not California.

For much of southern CA, 50+ miles each way is probably average. And there is literally no public transport available to most of these people, they would have to walk or bike almost the entire commute.

They can't move closer to the jobs, because those houses are too expensive. Leaving the state isn't an option for many people, and there's no guarantee of a better situation elsewhere. Not to mention the nation's economy would not fair so well if people started abandoning one of our largest economic powerhouses in droves.

For these people, it's no luxury. I'm sure many of them would love to live near work and have the option to take public transport, that probably sounds like luxury to them.
