House approves Washington, D.C., statehood in historic vote

Meh, if the plan 30+ years ago wasn’t good enough, then modify it and try again.

Like I mentioned, Guam probably needs more people and more land to have a shot at joining the union.

Most people seem happy with the current status.

If there was a well-thought out plan for joining Alaska or getting the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico to join Guam in becoming the 51st state, maybe people would be more interested.

For the past few decades it seems like the small unhappy minority has spent most of their time arguing about whether they should have an independent ethno-state or whether they should petition Congress to offer more special privileges. There hasn’t been much in the way of well-thought out plans for how to get full citizenship. I doubt waiting for an external agency (Trump, UN, whoever) to get interested to push the ball forward will yield much.
