House committee approves D.C. statehood, setting up likely passage in the full chamber

None of your reply rebuts my statement that DC's lack of representation is not some conspiratorial ploy.to prevent Democrat senators.

The rules of the game were set in the late 1700s, and the city developed in spite of those rules.

DC didn't have representation regardless of what parties existed since that time. It didn't have representation during the Civil War; it didn't have representation when the residents were Republican in the past; Democratic-Republican or Whigs in the distant past; or Democrats, today.

DC's lack of representation far predates any sort of modern political opinion.

So, again, how can you possibly believe that the only reason DC doesn't have statehood is because of political power struggles of the last 20-30 years?
