I'm old enough to remember when Clinton was impeached. It was a three ring circus that ended up making the GOP (who frothed "impeach!" every chance they got) look like morons.

Clinton won a second term. The public wasnt in the mood for it.

Yes the stakes are so much higher than a blowjob but the party that wanted to impeach got their wish and it blew up (pardon my pun) in their faces.

Just giving some perspective on why some of the Dem caucus is cautious to push for it. Or why Pelosi needs to make sure the will is out there.

The public needs to see it as more than a political sideshow. Trust me... Impeachment consumes ALL of Washington and the country for months.

Footnote: I was a toddler when Nixon was impeached and was really annoyed that my parents news watching about it ate up MY valuable Sesame Street time!
