Would you like to provide me with some sources to dispute my claim?
Even according to the EPA, they state that the extra resources to make a battery increase the carbon footprint but only when you take into account the end of life of the vehicle do you have a net positive impact on the environment.
Some studies have shown that making a typical electric vehicle (EV) can create more carbon pollution than making a gasoline car. This is because of the additional energy required to manufacture an EV’s battery
Requiring you to have a car for 13 years to reach a positive impact is a big ask.
It does seem I was wrong about the battery needing to be replaced often, it's replaced around every 10 years.
