All of my playlist names begin with two forward slashes (“//”) so I can easily identify my personal playlists in my Spotify sidebar. Also, none of them have spaces in their titles... I guess I thought that was cool a few years ago, and it's stuck.
First, I have my “flagship” and best-developed playlists—
*//ChevSampler is short, rotating playlist of stuff I can safely play in the car with other people. “Chev” refers to my online pseudonym; sadly, I do not drive a Chevrolet.
//ChevEssentials is a highly exclusive list of songs that made a big impact on the development of my musical taste.
//LostDreams is my AeStHEtIc playlist. I can't define the mood, though... it's a mix of chill pseudo-stoner stuff and dark, moody EDM bangers. Think EDEN, Tove Lo, and RKCB.
//OtherPop is little-known pop and album cuts from established artists.
//Musicals is, to be honest, mostly Barbra Streisand and Julie Andrews.
//BadReligion is full of songs that speak to the gay experience. It's mostly songs by gay artists, although I threw in some diva bangers that fit the narrative well and some pride classics.
Then we get to my decade playlists. //PopShop is radio pop from 2010 to present, followed by //10s, //90s, //80s, //70s, and //60.
After that is a huge string of artist playlists—//Madonna, //Kylie, //XCX, //CarlyRae,
