How do you all feel about surveys and research paper postings here ?

I do not feel they are helpful. (Though I am very tired so I hope I can explain this well, I am going to bed in some minutes).

This sub is for the discussion of autism. By having 'survey links', the discussion is being shifted elsewhere.

I feel it would be more helpful if the people with the questions just created a thread at this forum and asked them.

This way :

The person asking the questions gets the replies that they where seeking.
People reading may see interesting questions about aspects of autism that they had never previously considered, and will maybe wish to join in?
Maybe the top level replies to the questions will form interesting sub discussions of their own.
The person asking the questions can just take the top level replies if they wish, or maybe read the discussions that (I hope) would form from the questions and replies - and seek further clarification, think of new questions based on the discussions, or learn something about autism that they too had not considered. (I hope that makes sense. 'very tired' remember?)

The worst I can think of is that some questions may be too invasive to reply to 'in public'. But this is not 'in public', it takes seconds to make a new reddit name.

As they are, I feel survey links are not helpful. They feel out of place on a forum that exists to discuss autism, because they do not encourage discussion about autism, they drive it elsewhere, to a private place. Nothing is interesting about that. No-one learns anything new.

(please see that I am not saying 'ban them!', I just feel there are many advantages to have these survey questions asked here instead, and I can not think of any disadvantages - though in case you missed it - i am very tired and now I am going to bed)
