How are you judged unfairly?

I'm a muscle bound, Dave Grohl looking metalhead SOB. There are some nerdy things I am into. I might not longer be as full of pep with my level of interest in those things, but I'm as much of a fan as anyone else.

Yet, a lot of nerdy people I have met (not just fanboys) take one look at me and think I'm some guy who's there for hype and not really a fan of the things that I am. But I get it, they don't want to look bad by having a guy like me hanging around them and making them look bad or just "upstaging" them I guess. But it's a huge mess either way once you get your shite together more.

While there are series who's fans are different. Because most of them are female and LGBTQ+ they are a bit more polite about it, but still do the same shite. It's not a matter of me making them look bad or upstaging them. ( I have never really heard of that happening) From what I can tell it's that I'm a straight guy. They just want to pal around with everyone else but someone like me. From what I can guess it's pretty much the same mentality as the fanboys but they don't have the pressure on them to not be like that or something. I don't want to think this way, but there are some things that I grew up with and want to hang with the other people who did it as well. The irony just seems to be lost on them, I don't know what more I can do. Other than claiming that I crave cock and think I was born the wrong gender or something.
