How are you managing to support your family and your parents during their retirement?

My parents, being American, are not so selfish to burden their children's lives by expecting to be taken care of. And if I ever become a parent, I would never do that to any of my children because I consider it selfish and unacceptable.

My grandmother who died at 95 a few months ago refused for any of her children to live in the home with her or have her live with them as to not be a burden.

I feel really bad for Asian kids and this absurd "filial piety" crap, where your parents apparently only had you as insurance policies so they can control your entire future through guilt, benefit from your career, and prohibit you from having a free life of your own.

I can think of nothing more selfish and cruel.
