How are religions still around that belittle women and promote pedophilia?

Hmm I'm not very much aware of any religion where pedophilia is prominent. But I am quite aware that some non-Muslims throwing such allegations to Prophet Muhammad for his marriage to Aisha. Many were not aware that during that era in the Arabic gulf, young women whether Muslim or not were married off as early as 8 or 9 years old because at that time, the girls are fully developed (mature faster) than girls in our time today. So in that era, marriage at that age was very normal (otherwise you would have seen all over history the Quraisy tribe calling out Prophet Muhammad for marrying Aisha. The Quraisy were Muhammad's utmost enemy, they left no stone unturned to kill him) and u can see that his marriage to Aisha was never commented at all by the Quraisy, the Jew and Christians at that time. It was a normal thing in the society. His marriage to Aisha was not consummated right away, btw

Fast forward to 2019/2020, most Muslim countries I know we have a law about marriage age. Why? Because over time, society changes and girls do not mature and developed as fast as how it used to be 1400 years ago., And today at the age of 7 or 8, we are all busy with education. So, most Muslim countries have laws where girls can only Marry at the age of 18 yo but if they wish to be married before 18 (like maybe 16 or 17) the Muslim girls need a permission from the Shariah Court

I have seen some very isolated incidents where a grown up man married a young girl (12 yo. . 13yo) and the whole country roared about it. We are all very angry about it and have questioned the Government how had this slipped from their enforcement. Many times, this happened via a loophole in the law , the men took the girl to a neighboring country and did the (otherwise illegal) marriage there. Each time this made itself to the news, all Muslims in my country felt so disgusted because obviously the men manipulated the laws. In short, child marriage is very very rare nowadays at least where I came from. Most of my Muslim friends married at 24yo or 25yo, and I have only met 1 or 2 who married as early as 18yo

So yes. 1400years ago the dynamic and demographic of society was really different than today.
