Honestly, I’m one of those who could pick up their phone at any second and have ten unread messages. I’ve probably got an average of 20 texts and 20 FB messages that go unread daily. Sometimes, I’ll be snap chatting or messaging several people at once, but normally, they go unread until I have time and energy to respond. I’m definitely not more “deserving” of the effort and attention than anyone else, but I am more present. The reason people are always reaching out to me is because they’re constantly reminded of my presence. I am active on social media - not obnoxiously, but I’ve got opinions and a sense of humor and I share it - and I’m out and about in my city often as well. I find most of the people with active inboxes are those with more active social lives in general. When I was reclusive due to my depression and not having a car, far fewer people talked to me, most likely because they weren’t remembering I existed.
