How are you still a staff nurse?

The only people lightly neighsaying on my point keep saying that it’s not that simple to uproot your life, or be away from children or families or homes for X amount of days to go travel… I tried to provide solutions for these people. In 99% of cases, if you are willing to drive for up to 2.5h/day, you can have better working conditions and double to quadruple+ pay. If you choose not to do that, that’s on you. I am currently on a travel contract in a rural critical access hospital. It’s 1.25h away from me, so I drive 2.5h/day, but I sleep at home and see my son just about as often as if I were a staff nurse. I’m in Iowa. Not some big busting metropolis. Don’t make excuses; make changes. I’ll say this again, you’re worth what you accept. Keep pushing!
