How Assassin's Creed changed

Your point?

It's a pop fantasy game. Easy to grasp, accessible controls, open-ended design, little to no nudity, moderate violence. Of course it's going to be appealing to the masses.

Story? Skyrim's is nothing to write home about.

The Witcher 3 is of a wildly different breed and anyone who's finished at least one of the main quest lines can attest to this. It's dark, it's complex, and mature in it's themes. I love both games for different reasons but holy shit the intended audiences could not be more different from one another. No doubt it's going to have less sales.

Skyrim is the X&Y-era Coldplay of fantasy. It sticks to a surefire formula that guarantees a large amount of sales. It has one song that pretty much everyone can relate to and/or appreciate.

The Witcher 3 is Kid A-era Radiohead or some shit like that. You will either love it or hate it. It turned heads because it was bold, yet didn't stray too far from the path well traveled by previous developers.
