How bad can the tipping culture get in different countries?

It’s just about mandatory to tip in America. I’m a pretty poor tipper. I’ll tip like 2$ for a $20 burger and fries, and I’ve servers say things under there breath on the way out. I really hate the tip system we have here. It’s crazy because almost no other jobs get tipped. Teachers, nurses, the trash man? All hard workers who don’t get tipped. But servers also get mad too because they claim that’s how they get paid, but then if you suggest to just get a normally hourly job they say no tips make more money. They also don’t want the restaurant to switch to regular pay because again, tips can make more. The only one winning is the restaurant owners.
