How do I begin building/collecting Gunpla?

Actually it's okay to be a computer nerd. You can do alot of research you wanna before heading in.

I was like you too. It took me alot of research before I'm comfortable. I was planning to get my favorite mobile suit I've been longing for the past 2 years. I want it big, so I jumped straight into Master Grades. I did not get the appropriate tools back then.

I fucked up on the weapons (I assembled that section first), next up, the inner frames leg. With all those knife scratches, uneven nub marks, I really got discouraged as my favorite mobile suit just got ugly.

So I read up, YouTube tutorials, bought appropriate tools like sanding sheets, buffing sticks, get advise and real life demo from hobby shops. I tried again this time, everything went well. Even went to the extent of dismantling the weapons and refine the nubs.

I just gotta say, you'll learn when you messed up. Smooth seas don't make good sailors.

Even though my first gunpla MG kit is not perfect, it still holds sentimental value towards me. It reminded me of how much I tried not to let that kit affect me, how long I've been saving up just waiting for that moment, how happy I was after I bought my first kit, how discouraged I was when I fucked up and learn from it. That feels. Those precious moments.

Then you start to do more researching on which kit is your next in line, trying not to get yourself hook until your backlog has been completed but eventually it's kinda hard to suppress those temptation. I do have alot of MG kits I wanted to buy but I just have to hold it off until I finish my backlog. It's addictive, but doing research, reading reviews, are the key to whether you're really into this kit, or not.

One thing about GunPla? I feel like I'm really living my life doing something productive.

Welcome, to GunPla! :)
