Exhibition matches. Ask them about the peak hours and just play a match and see with anyone seems interested in the game. Bring some battle box to show different factions.

Disclaimer, I have zero experience in creating/maintain a community, but a thought a opinion wouldn’t hurt.

I was in KIND OF similar situation. A friend went to Canada, discovered WMH and told our group of friends about the game. I’m a big board game fan and always wanted to play a miniatures wargame, so we all brought a battle-box (I choose Skorne). Fast forward a few months and I discovered that a hate the hobby part, and as a friend told me “You want to move cool miniatures and roll dice”, and yes, that is true lol. So I dropped the game cuz of it a few more reasons. Wish you a better fate.
