How can I better communicate with my producer?

Started reading this.. noticed:

when I gave notes, I got some pushback

This guy's maybe sensitive to criticism. Anytime you'll be suggesting something, it'll get on his nerves. It's like you're telling him, whatever you're doing, it sucks. He's working on stuff, then has to put it in the garbage. I betcha he can't stand you.

You got a couple options here. Can't keep doing what you're doing, cause he hates you. But he pretends he's not to get money. That kinda sucks.

One alternative is, keep your mouth shut. Leave him do everything that he wants and do not complain about 1 thing. Maybe it'll have more success that doing it the way you want. How do you know.

Other than that, only other thing you can do is get the hell out of there. Find somebody who isn't all uptight.

You'd have be beside someone the whole time. What the hell's going on over there that this isn't going on? Like how much are you paying this guy?

Reading this, seems like everything you suggest, he gets pissy. And then the music has to feel ok but if you look at how it was put together it's like this bad trip. It doesn't seem like a good scenario.

It's kind of like paying somebody to do video and they hate it. You can picture that scenario. Somehow you'd think, them who can't stand you, it'll reflect in the music.

Might be some compatibility issues here of what kind of music you're into and what kind he's into. Might want to find somebody who's into your style. It'd be like asking somebody who makes EDM to do some rock. Sensing something is wrong here.

This list.. you'd need to be there the whole time so in real time you can be the one who moves the slider to tone down that instrument volume. I don't know.. seems like a bad scene all this, considering you're paying for it.
