How can we improve the beauty space

You're so right about who you seek out being the key. There are plenty of content creators out their that don't fall into the traps that OP mentioned, they just aren't as buzzed about.

Most of the content I consume comes from creators 30+ who tend to be more down to earth, consistent types than younger or trendier ones because they give advice relevant to the way I use beauty products and their tastes align with mine. There's nothing wrong with wanting to take care of your skin and look as young as you can, IMO, but it's important that the influencers I watch have an accepting attitude about the inevitability of aging and project a realistic image. Watching people 20 years younger than me use makeup in a way that will not flatter me is not helpful and their opinions on products have limited value to me.
