How can I find out whether I'm interested in CS as a career within the next week?

I got into CompSci (instead of a Math degree) because I liked the Pure Math aspect and the awesome courses it offers (especially in the Master - it's in Europe, Master is a must), though I didn't know how to program. The first year was hell, because going to a regarded Tech Uni without programming skills was torture and everyone else was literally better than me.

I hit one wall after another, I couldn't read code, couldn't program, and was so overwhelmed. The exams had computer programming tasks, so that was a rough awakening too.

However, I put at least a thousand hours into my first year and got the hang of it all eventually. I couldn't imagine doing a Math degree anymore, I would miss all the other courses and I started to love programming and all the possibilities it opens up.

So the direct answer is; You can't really decide in a week and maybe your picking up programming faster than me. Those two degrees are for sure very different. CE is more applied Math and more like Electrical Engineering whereas CS is leaning more towards a Pure Math degree with programming and some interleavings with CE (Computer Architecture and Assembly Programming courses).
